Ok, case study:

Assuming you invested RM10K in Public Regular Saving Fund at the buying price of 0.58*. So, the total units you have is (10,000/0.58) = 17,241.38. Now, the distribution is 4.5 cent per units. So, your income or dividend for this year will be (17,241,38)X0.045 = RM775.86! it's about 7.7%.

RM775.86 without doing anything. Just let your money 'roll itself'. You know what you will get if you put in Bank Fix-deposit? With the current rate which is 2.5%, you only get RM250. Gosh!

* i used the recent price for our calculation. what if you bought it 5 years ago? it's far more than 7.7%.

Case study 2:

Assuming you invested RM10K in Public Aggressive Growth Fund at the buying price of 0.70. Total units you get is 14,285. Times with the 8 cent per units, you will get RM 1,142.85 or 11.42%.

Too bad i didn't invest into this two funds (yet).

Have a great day!
