Share Basic: How much is 1 lot of share?

Let’s say company XYZ shares are currently priced at RM10 per share. To purchase 1,000 shares which is equivalent to 10 lots, an investor would need RM10,000.


But overall you need to pay Rm10,042 because of the 0.42 brokerage fees (vary on different broker firm).


For your information, you can sell portion of you shares. For example, once the price of XYZ reached RM12, you can sell 500 shares which is 5 lots and have 500 shares remain in the market.
